Celebrate the holiday season in Downtown Tampa at the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park presented by Tampa Bay Lightning. Located along the Tampa Riverwalk, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is transformed with the sights, sounds and activities of the holidays for children and adults of all ages.

Ice Rink Information

Downtown Tampa’s only outdoor ice rink welcomes families and friends to share in this holiday tradition with a view of the beautiful Tampa Riverwalk and Hillsborough River. Whether you are a first-timer, or an experienced skater, the Winter Village Ice Rink is a must-do activity this holiday season.

Rentals

Do Floridians own ice skates? Not to worry! Ice skate rentals are available on-site at the ice rink entrance for children and adults.

Ice skating tickets include 90 minutes of skating, including ice skate rental. Tickets are purchased at the ice rink entrance. Socks are available for purchase at the skate window.

Parties

Private event skating packages are available during none operational hours at Winter Village at Curtis Hixon. Rates start at $550 for two hours, for up to 100 people. Catering options are available on site.

The Shops of Winter Village

The Shops of Winter Village feature 10 boutiques from local makers and purveyors offering a gift idea for everyone on your list. This “pop-up” holiday shopping experience features decorative goods, apparel, handmade toys, jewelry, dog accessories, and more! Thanks to the generous support of PODS® Moving and Storage, each Winter Village Shop is held in a PODS® container in a market-style layout. Visitors are encouraged to shop at the various boutiques during their visit, all while enjoying a beautiful view of the Hillsborough River.

Winter Village Express

The Winter Village Express will make its way from Downtown’s Whiting Station to Ybor and back on the TECO Line Streetcar. Join returning hosts, Bob and Gretchen Quackenbush, for this one-hour, round-trip excursion that is fun for the entire family! Our trip features a holiday sing-a-long, holiday trivia, milk & cookies, and added surprises along the way. You don’t want to miss this memorable holiday event, so get your tickets for the Winter Village Express before they sell out!

Attend Tampa’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony usually on the first Friday in December in beautiful Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. The evening will include a countdown to light the tree with Mayor Castor and a free movie in the park. Come see Elf with Will Ferreal.

Admission is free.

Blankets, low back chairs, coolers and dogs on leashes are allowed. Concessions will be available. Glass and alcohol are prohibited.

Light up your spokes, put on your dancing shoes, and get ready to ride; the Winter Wonder Ride is back!

The Winter Wonder Ride is a charity bike ride that funds the purchase of bicycles and helmets for at-risk kids.

Every year during the holiday season we set out on a bike ride through scenic downtown Tampa, out alongside the cool waters of Bayshore Boulevard, before returning to Curtis Hixon park for our incredible Post-Ride Celebration, where you, your friends, and your family, dance the night away!

The headliner for the 9th Annual Winter Wonder Ride is CEELO GREEN!

Ride Departs: 4:30pm (guests must be checked in by 4:00pm)

We have several options available.

Parking is available for a nominal rate at multiple locations adjacent to the Winter Village, including the William F. Poe Parking Garage north of Curtis Hixon Park. On-street parking in Downtown Tampa is free of charge north of Kennedy Boulevard after 6:00 pm on weekdays and all-day on weekends. Standard parking fares apply at all other times.

We encourage you to park once to enjoy the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park and walk the beautiful Tampa Riverwalk to other downtown destinations. You can also travel to the Winter Village by Downtowner free ride service, Pirate Water Taxi, Coast Bike Share, and more! Visit the Getting Around section in Tampa’s Downtown to explore all your options.

Leashed dogs are welcome on the Tampa Riverwalk, adjacent downtown parks and Winter Village event areas. Dogs are not allowed on the ice rink.
Winter Village is free to attend and is open to all ages. The shops and café area feature specialty goods, food and drink for purchase. The ice rink requires paid admission to skate and for ice skating rentals.
No, tickets can be purchased by helpful on-site staff at the entrance of the rink!
