Celebrate the holiday season in Downtown Tampa at the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park, presented by USAmeriBank. Located along the Tampa Riverwalk, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is transformed with the sights, sounds and activities of the holidays for children and adults of all ages.

Downtown Tampa’s only outdoor ice rink welcomes families and friends to share in this holiday tradition with a view of the beautiful Tampa Riverwalk and Hillsborough River. Whether you are a first-timer, or an experienced skater, the Winter Village Ice Rink is a must-do activity this holiday season.

Rentals

Do Floridians own ice skates? Not to worry! Ice skate rentals are available on-site at the ice rink entrance for children and adults.

Ice skating tickets include 90 minutes of skating, including ice skate rental. Tickets are purchased at the ice rink entrance.

Winter Village Shops

The Winter Village Shops feature 10 boutiques from local makers and purveyors offering a gift idea for everyone on your list. This “pop-up” holiday shopping experience features decorative goods, apparel, handmade toys, jewelry, dog accessories, and more! Thanks to the generous support of PODS® Moving and Storage, each Winter Village Shop is held in a PODS® container in a market-style layout. Visitors are encouraged to shop at the various boutiques during their visit, all while enjoying a beautiful view of the Hillsborough River.

Winter Village Express

New this year, the Winter Village Express offers a holiday experience aboard a holiday-themed Streetcar. Hop on at Centro Ybor after enjoying some games and holiday activities and enjoy treats, music and fun as you travel to Whiting Station. A quick walk along the Riverwalk brings you to Winter Village.

Tickets can be purchased at both stations, Whiting and Centro, by credit card or exact change. All trips are first come, first serve due to limited availability, so come early!

If paying by credit card, you may opt to add skate tickets to your purchase for an additional fee.

Special Events

With so much going on for the holidays in Tampa’s Downtown, it’s easy to fill an entire day with activities. Pair ice skating, the Winter Village Express, shopping and treats with any of the additional events taking place in Curtis Hixon Park for a fun-filled day.

Tampa’s majestic movie palace shares the warmth and light of the season with classic holiday favorites on the big screen. With Tampa Theatre temporarily closed for restoration, the 2018 Holiday Classics Movie Series will be presented as a series of free, family-friendly films in Curtis Hixon Park, Nov. 18-Dec. 16, as part of the Winter Village celebration.

Attend Tampa’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in beautiful Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

The evening will include a countdown to light the tree with Mayor Buckhorn and a free movie in the park, courtesy of Tampa Theatre’s Winter Classics.

Blankets, low back chairs, coolers and dogs on leashes are allowed. Concessions will be available. Glass and alcohol are prohibited.

Santa Fest is fun for the young and the young at heart!

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is transformed into a winter wonderland with free photos with Santa, holiday entertainment and crafts and games for the kids.

The Downtown Tampa Christmas Parade steps off at 11 am with festivities in the park starting at noon.

It’s That Time Again! onbikes is proud to announce the 7th Annual Winter Wonder Ride!

The Winter Wonder Ride is a charity bike ride that funds the purchase bicycles and helmets for at-risk kids.

Every year during the holiday season we set out on a bike ride through scenic downtown Tampa, out alongside the cool waters of Bayshore Boulevard, before returning to Curtis Hixon park for our incredible Post-Ride Celebration, where you, your friends, and your family, dance the night away!

Now for the BIG NEWS! This years theme is Ho Ho Ho!

That’s right. We’re featuring the big man himself!

We have several options available.

Parking is available for a nominal rate at multiple locations adjacent to the Winter Village, including the William F. Poe Parking Garage north of Curtis Hixon Park. On-street parking in Downtown Tampa is free of charge north of Kennedy Boulevard after 6:00 pm on weekdays and all-day on weekends. Standard parking fares apply at all other times.

We encourage you to park once to enjoy the Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park and walk the beautiful Tampa Riverwalk to other downtown destinations. You can also travel to the Winter Village by Downtowner free ride service, Pirate Water Taxi, Coast Bike Share, and more! Visit the Getting Around section in Tampa’s Downtown to explore all your options.

Leashed dogs are welcome on the Tampa Riverwalk, adjacent downtown parks and Winter Village event areas. Dogs are not allowed on the ice rink.
Winter Village is free to attend and is open to all ages. The shops and café area feature specialty goods, food and drink for purchase. The ice rink requires paid admission to skate and for ice skating rentals.
No, tickets can be purchased by helpful on-site staff at the entrance of the rink!
